I listen to music
in bed a lot before going to sleep in the hope that it will
help me get to sleep. However, I have recently been told by
a reputable source (Judy) that listening to music with words
is not conducive to sleep as the words in songs stimulate
the brain, thus keeping me awake. I decided to create a
collection of instrumental tunes to put
this theory to a test. I sure hope it works and that it will
help me and possibly others sleep better. These tunes, which
I have recorded over a 20 year period, cover a range of
styles from Christmas music, to Bach, to Beethoven, to jazz,
to rock, to classical and some styles in between.
In some sense if my music puts you to sleep it would be a
bad thing but in this case that is exactly what I am hoping
for.
I played
all of the instruments used in these recording
(acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, piano,
synthesizers and various percussion instruments).
My friend Paul played percussion on Brockway Mountain and my
wife Heather narrated it as well.
-- Iwant to make one thing perfectly clear --
I record these songs with total respect for the
artists that wrote and performed them originally. I
never have and never will try to make any money on
these recordings. These songs cannot be sold for any
reason because I don't own the rights to any of the
songs. I record these songs for myself, my family and
my friends only, never to make money.
It is best
to listen to these tunes with headphones as
that is how I recorded and mixed them. I hope you find something here
that you like and that helps you sleep.
If you find a song you like you
can right click on the link and download it to your
computer. Please share these tunes with
whoever you like.
This page offers only a small selection of the music I have
recorded over the years. My goal is to record all of my
favorite songs I grew up with. My main music page is here.
